How to Login

On SHIROKANE, Authentication method is key authentication. Password authentication does not use. Please set up the public key authentication, and start the login with the public key authentication.

A message similar to the one below will be displayed at the first login. Please enter "yes". The authenticity of host 'slogin.hgc.jp (202.175.151.54)' can't be established. RSA key fingerprint is 3d:cf:c2:64:56:77:2f:4d:80:97:56:65:6e:44:2b:63. Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? yes

For UNIX/Linux, Max OS X

Login to slogin.hgc.jp, the login node of SHIROKANE, via SSH. $ ssh username@slogin.hgc.jp
Enter passphrase for key 'ida_rsa': Input your passphrase
[username@sloginX ~]$

For Windows

Use SSH-compatible software such as TeraTerm, PuTTY.

How to Change Your Password

Use the "passwd" command on login node or qlogin compute node. $ passwd Changing password for user username.
Enter login(LDAP) password: Input your current password
New password: Input your new password
Retype new password: Input your new password again
LDAP password information changed for username
passwd: all authentication tokens updated successfully.

The following passwords will be rejected.

  • Those based on user names, words, or names of famous persons
  • Those with under 8 characters
  • Those using only letters (two or more character classes are required)
  • Those using only numbers
  • Those that repeat the same character three or more times (e.g. aaa, bbbb)

If You Forget Your Password

The system administrator does not know your password. If you forget your password, it will have to be reset.
If you are able to come to the maintenance room (HGC first floor), please bring your ID card (with photographs) and we will change your password after identify verification.
If you are unable to come to the maintenance room, please contact to Supercomputer support team.
