Login Linux

On SHIROKANE, Authentication method is key authentication. Password authentication does not use. Please set up the public key authentication, and start the login with the public key authentication.

For UNIX/Linux, Max OS X

Login to slogin.hgc.jp, the login node of SHIROKANE, via SSH. $ ssh username@slogin.hgc.jp
Enter passphrase for key 'ida_rsa': Input your passphrase
[username@sloginX ~]$

For Windows

Use SSH-compatible software such as TeraTerm, PuTTY.

Use the "passwd" command on login node or qlogin compute node. $ passwd Changing password for user username.
Enter login(LDAP) password: Input your current password
New password: Input your new password
Retype new password: Input your new password again
LDAP password information changed for username
passwd: all authentication tokens updated successfully.

If you see the message shown above, your new password has been set successfully.
In order to choose a secure password…

• Avoid using your name, username, date of birth, words that can be found in a dictionary, or names of famous people, as they can be easily guessed by others.
• Avoid using the same password as other systems.
• Passwords are extremely important for preventing the illegal use of our system. Please do not disclose your password to others.

The system administrator does not know your password. If you forget your password, it will have to be reset.
If you are able to come to the maintenance room (HGC first floor), please bring your ID card (with photographs) and we will change your password after identify verification.
If you are unable to come to the maintenance room, please contact to Supercomputer support team.
